Zarate Pollace Project (ZPP) is a collaboration between Abel Zarate and Michelle Pollace (Po-LAH-chi) showcasing original music that fuses contemporary jazz with Latin/Brazilian grooves to create a positive and uplifting vibe for today. Abel is known for co-writing the international hit song Suavecito while in Malo and also for penning Latin Lady, which put Latin-music legend Willie Bobo back on the jazz charts. Abel appears in the books Voices of Latin Rock (Ron Sansoe, Jim McCarthy), The Rolling Stone Encyclopedia of Rock & Roll (Holly George-Warren, Patricia Romanowski, and Jon Pareles), and Country Joe and Me (Ron Cabral). He has been awarded a BMI Pop Awards Citation of Achievement for having co-written one of the most-played pop songs of 1999 (for co-writing credits on Sugar Rays hit Every Morning).
